Tuscan 18” Round Serving/Wall Platter with Bees in the Orchard

This large platter is a classic example of traditional Tuscan ceramics. Fruit, or frutta, has featured prominently on many of the ceramics we have imported from the region over the years. This is a true homage to the city of Florence, with The Marzocco lions embracing the Fleur de Lis. The Marzocco is the heraldic lion that was said to be the first piece of public secular sculpture commissioned by the Republic of Florence. The Fleur de Lis is also a symbol of the city. This platter can be used for food at the table, and it can hang as wall decor. Artisans Ceramica d’arte Ammannati handcrafted this platter in their Tuscan studio.
